A Graceful Legacy Continues

As President of MLP Capital Inc., a member of the Board of Directors at Chemed Corporation, and a managing partner of several real estate interests, Patrick Grace knows business. As a descendant of a large, philanthropic family, he also knows and understands the importance of service — “It’s a real family tradition,” says Grace. Annual Fund Breaks Record Again!

Gifts to the Annual Fund topped $908,602 in 2007-2008, breaking the record set the previous year.

Gifts of all sizes – from alumnae/i, trustees and friends of the Mount – contributed to the success of the 2007-2008 Annual Fund.
Some highlights:

Continued Growth of the President’s Associates
Established in 2001, the President’s Associates are donors committed to giving $1,000 to the Annual Fund each year. In 2007-2008, giving by the President’s Associates increased 10% with donors contributing over $655,000 to the Annual Fund.

Reunion Giving
Once again, alumnae/i in reunion classes led the way in giving. Reunion classes contributed over $281,000 to the College. The Mount is grateful to the many volunteers who made the reunion giving effort a success.

Generous Giving by the Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees showed great leadership by contributing over $157,000 in cash and matching gifts to the 2007-2008 Annual Fund.

Gifts from IRAs
Several donors took advantage of new IRA legislation allowing donors who are 70½ or older to contribute to charitable organizations with funds transferred directly from their individual retirement accounts.

The Annual Fund at the College of Mount Saint Vincent is the foundation of unrestricted financial support for the College. Annual Fund gifts provide critical resources for faculty and students, enabling the Mount to continue to offer a competitive high-quality education. Your gift to the College of Mount Saint Vincent Annual Fund provides unrestricted direct support for a multitude of programs and services including:

Much-needed scholarship support to deserving students
Elizabeth Seton Library’s collection of publications and access to online resource materials
The College’s academic and athletic programs
The upkeep and maintenance of the Mount’s beautiful buildings and grounds
