The Mount’s more than 9,000 alumnae/i are leaders, doctors, teachers, writers, producers, nurses, and parents—thoughtful and capable people engaged in their communities. Some are renowned.

Here’s what just a few of our alumnae/i are doing:

Monica Smith, B.A., Business, Class of 1990, is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Marketsmith, Inc., a leading provider of direct marketing serves. It is committed to excellence and giving attention to its clients. In 2005, Marketsmith. Inc. contributed $5,000 to the College’s endowment in 2006-2007 as part of a $25,000 commitment to establish the Marketsmith Award for Entrepreneurship. The award will be given annually by a panel of alumnae/i entrepreneurs to the student who submits the best original business plan.

Karen Boykin-Towns, B.A.,Business, Class of 1987, is Diversity Officer of Pfizer Inc., the largest research-based pharmaceutical company in the world. She serves as member of the National Board of Directors for the NAACP and is President of the Brooklyn Branch. In 2007, she won the Distinguised Alumni Award from the Council on Independent Colleges and Universities.

Rosemary Berkery, B.A., English, Class of 1975, is executive vice president and general counsel for Merrill Lynch & Company, one of the world’s leading financial management and advisory companies. An attorney, she was recently named one of Fortune’s “Five Women to Watch.” She also was recently honored at the College’s Annual Scholarship Tribute Dinner.  More alumnae/i in business…
