Also, we structure and monitor our internships so they provide the most valuable experience possible. You will not just be stuffing envelopes—you will be working with the producers on VH1, writing press releases for Madison Square Garden, or taking care of snakes at the Bronx Zoo. See examples of our internships…
Some of our programs require an internship, but any student can do one. Internships are not about just requirements and credits—they are about clarifying career goals, getting a taste of the world of work, gaining skills and knowledge and building valuable connections. Internships build resumes and make you more competitive in the workplace.
How to Get an Internship
Finding an internship is very much like finding a job. You will check listings for placements that interest you, prepare a resume and cover letter to be sent to internship sites, and be ready to go on an interview. The staff of the Office of Career Development and Internships will help you with the entire process.
We have hundreds of internship listngs in many different fields in our database, DOLPHINLINK. You may also check other internship websites, use personal contacts, or go directly to sites of organizations in which you are interested. All internships must be approved by the Director of Career Development and Internships and/or the Internship Supervisor in your Academic Department. Registration and contract materials must be completed by the first week of class.
